Sustainable Sock Monkeys & Organic Cotton Black Sateen
Check out these adorable sock monkeys, sustainably made by a worker-owned cooperative in North Carolina. With the outer layer made from Maggie's Organics "less than perfect" socks and apparel and the stuffing of reclaimed, post-industrial polyester fiber from mill scraps, these sock monkeys keep both textile products and waste from piling up in landfills. Their embroidered faces are safe for even little children (no button eyes upon which to choke, yay!), and my favorite part? They're machine-washable, which so many children's stuffed toys aren't (but all should be!). Just in time for the holiday season, these sock monkeys are too cute -- and too sustainable -- to resist. Don't reserve them for children, either, as adults love them too.
