New peace silk for sustainable luxuries, and other new fabrics too.

We're thrilled to announce that we finally have gloriously colored peace silks in stock. Hand-woven on antique looms by a women's cooperative in India, these fabrics catch the light (and the eye) in a way you just don't see every day. They're astonishingly beautiful. We have a limited supply of each fabric to start with, so if you're thinking about using them for special projects I encourage you to purchase them early -- we hope to get more, but the hand-crafted nature means they can take a while to restock.
Check them out: Saffron Sophisticated Peace Silk, Twilight Amity Peace Silk (look how thin it is -- absolutely perfect for a light scarfwrap or other sophisticated goodies), Garnet Peace Silk, and Incandescent Peace Silk. (The photo to the left shows garnet and saffron, of course.) With the exception of the amazingly thin, fine Amity Peace Silk, the other silks are thick enough to use for simply astounding formal wear -- wedding, prom, or ball dresses, fancy skirts, and the like. They're also great for more casual business attire, like jackets, camisoles, and other work goodies. And if you like to embellish your wardrobe, these fabrics are just perfect for it. I'm so planning on a pair of lounge pants out of the Luminous Sophisticated Peace Silk, with a line of simple patchwork on the outside of each leg made from scraps of the colored silks. It'll be gorgeous, just as soon as I have the time to make it...
We've also added many new knit fabrics made from organic cotton, including some perfect for the upcoming winter in the Northern Hemisphere, and some that our Southern Hemisphere friends will love as they enter their summer season. (keep reading to see what they are)

Our Ribbed Thermal is a fascinating new knit, unlike any I've seen before; it's a classic thermal knit that also has rows of nice, thick ribs adding textural interest and extra warmth and thickness. You'll be loving this fabric all fall and winter long!
Our Byzantine Fleecy Velour makes us want to snuggle up all soft and cozy, and it's such a splendid color too. This is a grand fabric that you won't want to miss.
The Colorgrown Brown Stripe Thermal is one of those amazing deals that we're so glad to be able to offer. Because of a small, intermittent hole every yard or so, this fabric is almost half of the cost that it would normally be ... and just in time for winter, too!
We have matching Smoky Grey Jersey and Smoky Grey Rib Knit; they combine beautifully to make lounging sets, kids' clothes (the rib knit can work as ribbing at the collars and cuffs), and so much more. They're nice, light fabrics, prefect for spring and summer wear or as an inner layer to retain warmth in winter.
There are also three other glorious new jerseys: Bellflower, which is a great bluepurple color, Inky Black, and Castles In The Sky. These are great new fabrics, a bit wider than usual, tubular (I love tubular fabrics, don't you? They're so much fun to work with!), and marvelous colors. Definitely check them out.
