Barbara Garton's creations for people and pets

Have you seen Barbara Garton's creations for people and pets? Here's what Barbara writes about the wonderfully cozy organic cotton blankets she makes:

"I have been in fabrics all my life and being in a fabric store is second nature to me. My mother was also a seamstress so I was born into the craft.

Just recently I needed a certain fabric and went to the local fabric store. Boy was I disappointed. First of all the whole building had an off smell and I am sure it was due to whatever they " preserve " the fabrics with, I remember the smell from growing up. In fact I had to leave just to get some fresh air. I also was not impressed with the quality, everything seems thinner and the texture is even different from what I remember.

I wanted to thank you for offering wonderful organic fabrics. I look forward to opening up the box and giving it a big sniff, I know that sounds funny but my nose is very sensitive and tells the truth. What I find is clean, fresh and very soft textures. Even after the first wash.

I wanted to thank you for my new blanket I made from your Perfect Paisley Light Brown Fleece and Heathered Evergreen Knit Herringbone. The photo may not show its best qualities but I want to tell you that it is wonderfully warm, soft, easy care, and best of all beautiful. Now my husband wants one and I have already made one for one of my customers.

I will be back for more and enjoy all of your fabrics so much."

(The second blanket pictured "was with the same herringbone but she choose the organic natural heavy fleece. [The customer] wanted it as big as possible due to her very tall boyfriend so I had to add to the edge which in turn added just the right amount of weight to keep the blanket on him while enjoying a little R and R.")
