Strong, durable, and absolutely beautiful -- this natural herringbone is completely incredible! Made from 100% organic cotton, grown in Texas and woven at an old-time textile mill (now, sadly, out of business) in North Carolina, this is the classic herringbone weave that launched a thousand ships. (Okay, I'm mixing metaphors here, but it truly is a splendid fabric.)

The material softens a bit when washed, and is incredibly versatile; you'll love it for stylish work clothing (jackets, skirts, pants, and the like) as well as substantial children's wear -- overalls, pants, vests, and so much more. One of my favorite outfits when my oldest was but a wee little boy (about 18 months old, I'd guess) was a reversible jacket and pants combo made from modified Sewing for Toddlers patterns using Natural Herringbone for one side and a brown chambray for the other. Oh, he was so stylin', and it was oversized so it lasted for quite a while -- the perfect kind of kid outfit!

Don't stop at clothes, either -- using this great fabric to make changing pads, book covers, throw pillows, tote bags, glasses cases, ... The occasional darker fleck combines with herringbone's chevron weave to create a lovely fabric. Don't miss it!
