Light yellow in color, this wonderful wool melton appeals to the whole family. Woven as a wool flannel and then fulled (a controlled felting process), the material is not as soft as a conventional flannel but is a dense, water-resistant, cozy joy to work with. Technically called "coating weight" or "outerwear weight," and weighing 14 ounces per square yard, you'll find so many wonderful ways to use this great fabric. Great for warm winter coats, scarves, capes, and making or lining snowgear; you won't want to be without a good stash of this fabric each winter.

Made from organic Australian merino wool, woven in the United States. The fulling process produced about 20% shrinkage, and washing on hot can felt the material a bit more but much less than had the cloth not been pre-treated.
