This is a textbook example of the perfect wool twill, coat-weight, and steamed to create a marvelous hand -- soft, with an almost brushed feel. Wonderful for coats, of course, business suits, crafts, and so much more. The luxurious organic wool fabric speaks for itself -- such fabrics are hard to find, and this one's particularly special.
It's impossible to show how appealing this fabric is on a computer screen, but the bottom picture is our attempt to do just that; it simply shows the fabric piled on a table. See how it catches the light? Don't you just want to touch the material, to sew with it, to make amazing creations? I know we do!
There is a dirt spot about the size of an azuki bean that appears approximately every 1.5 yards, in the middle of the fabric. Although the dirt spot doesn't wash out, it's fairly easy to work around and really rather unobtrusive in my opinion.
Enjoy the gorgeous, classic ivory color, not quite white and not quite "natural", which will enliven your wardrobe. Dry-clean only (greenly, of course), to maintain the wonderful finish. That said, washing the fabric changes the texture but I don't find the results unappealing. It's thicker and tighter, more like boiled wool and less like wool twill but still very very nice.
Made using organic Australian wool in a small, socially-responsible, Fair-Trade Certified boutique factory in China, where employees are both treated and compensated fairly.
