The two sisters behind Oliveira Textiles have created a line of ocean-inspired sustainable fabrics that are bold, and fun. They're vibrantly original, and will be sure to make a difference both in the look of your house and in the lives of the people involved in their creation.
Can't you just see gorgeous throw pillows, upholstery and so much more? Consider using it for walls (you can always go smaller than the entire wall if cost is an issue...), upholstered headboards (though I'd probably choose to either seal or not use plywood, and I'd use batting instead of foam even though it might have to be repadded more frequently ... but that's because I'm an organic fanatic), comforters and bedskirts, and so much more.
The second image to the left is the designer's rendition of the pattern; the other pictures are of the fabric itself. The very long picture is a photograph of the fabric shown selvage to selvage. The ruler in the third picture is 8" long. Because it's such a large-scale design it is difficult to photograph or scan well, but we did the best we could! The color on the close-up pictures (the one with the ruler and the one to the right) is the closest to the real fabric on my monitor, though your monitor may differ.
This is a sturdy hemp twill, woven in China, with the classic hemp feel that makes it so wonderful for upholstery and other home dec applications.
