Like sassafras bark, which can be used for any number of things, this fabric is incredibly versatile. It's so soft it feels almost pre-washed (though we always recommend pre-washing for shrinkage regardless!), and the intricate diagonal weave of colorgrown green and brown threads is so very eyecatching! Thick enough for upholstery and other home dec projects, comfortable enough for clothing -- even for lounge wear! -- and durable enough for tote bags, backpacks, and other wonderfully useful things.
One of my favorite aspects of this fabric, though, is that you can make some incredibly sophisticated creations with it and nobody needs to know how soft and comfy they actually are! One look at the weave and you'll see what I mean.
At 16.4 ounces per linear yard, this fabric weighs 10 ounces per square yard. I suggest serging, hemming, or taping the edges before prewashing or you'll probably experience a fair amount of fraying.
