Whitened with peroxide (rather than chlorine bleach or something even more toxic), woven in the US using American-grown organic cotton, and lusciously soft (especially once washed), this is the organic white cotton flannel you've been looking for!
Use this workhorse fabric for the whole family. It's traditionally coveted for infant layettes -- diapers, blankets, clothing (especially those adorable gowns that gather at the bottom -- could there be anything cuter???), and the like. Great for kids and grown-ups too, though -- line a pair of winter pants with flannel and you'll be oh-so-cozy, or make a splendid work shirt for those nippy fall mornings. Flannel's great for cloth menstrual pads, pillowcases and other bedding, and so much more.
The white color means this fabric is perfect for embellishments: it will show appliques, fabric paints, natural dyes, embroidery, and other decorations beautifully. Have fun giving your creativity free rein!
At 13.6 ounces per linear yard, the flannel's a traditional 8-ounce-per-square-yard weight (that's what so many patterns call for). Although the fabric starts out soft enough, it washes up even softer and more luscious. It's really a splendid material! A 36" length of fabric, after a warm wash and hot dry, will end up measuring about 32" long.
