No, this isn't "True Brown" because our other browns are fake; we chose that name because it's pretty much the definitive example of what brown should be. It's a very brown brown, a classic color, the shade that springs to mind when I'm asked to think of brown -- not dark, not light, not sepia or tumbleweed or anything like that. Just pure, inspiring brown. And there's so much that can be done with the right fabric in the right color ... can you tell that I think this is a great one?

Eight percent spandex combines with organic cotton to provide both stretch and an excellent rebound, making the material perfect for exercise clothing, lingerie (bras, including nursing bras, aren't too hard to make, and panties can be downright easy), long johns, baby and toddler sleep or playwear (though of course it's strongly recommended that infant sleepwear be flame-retardant or close-fitting), etc. Have fun -- the extra stretch makes the material more forgiving of mistakes than you might otherwise expect, and it's a great fabric to play with!

At 13 ounces per linear yard, this fabric weighs about 7.4 ounces per square yard and has approximately 75% stretch. It is knit in the US at a factory that complies with the GOTS standards. The fabric is colored using low-impact fiber-reactive dyes, of course.
