You'll be thrilled with these fully-adjustable, fitted, side-snapping diapers! With three sizes included to fit almost all babies (small, for up to 12 pounds, medium for 12-22 pounds, and large for 22-35 pounds), it just might be perfect for YOUR baby. Customize your fabric choice(s) for your desired absorbency and drying time -- just about any fabric that is soft, durable, and absorbent will work, including flannel, french terry, knit terry, interlock, and jersey. (Our sample, shown at left, was made from Pinstripe Flannel with a Natural Sherpa soaker.)
Relatively easy and quick to make, you should have no problem if you're able to work with elastic in casings. And really, if you take your time and are careful, even beginners should be able to make them ... especially with a good seam ripper, just in case! Can be made with a serger or a conventional sewing machine; you can even make them with a straight-stitch-only machine using the "turn and stitch" method.
Approximately 5/8 yard of fabric is required for each diaper, along with four stud sets and 10 socket sets of size 16 or 20 snaps and 1/3 yard of elastic (1/4" wide for small, 3/8" wide for medium, and 1/2" for large).
This pattern takes the mystery out of cloth diapers -- you'll be amazed with what you can make. Outfit your baby, a loved one's baby, a baby you don't even know -- what an amazing gift fitted cloth diapers make, for people who would love to use cloth but don't think they can afford them!
