Prized for its natural moth-repelling characteristics, nettle is traditionally chosen to back wool carpets in Nepal. Nettle yarn, used for centuries, is woven, crocheted, and knitted into items ranging from clothing and ceremonial accessories to fishing nets and bags. Completely natural, the yarn is made from wild-crafted nettles that are processed and spun by hand. With a texture similar to natural linen, you'll love the rustic and natural appeal. It will soften somewhat with wear, after washing 4-5 times.
Use as a carry-along yarn with RecycledSilk. Knit or crochet bags and face cloths. Use for macrame, weaving, as a binding for rag rugs, or in other crafts. Most balls will contain some hand-tied breaks.
There are approximately 250 yards per 95-gram ball.
