Misses' Aprons

The Misses' Aprons are designed for woven fabrics. We suggest cotton, cotton types, calico, chambray and broadcloth. A wonderful idea that's been mostly ignored for the past several decades, aprons are finally being noticed again. At the most basic level an apron will protect your clothing from cooking stains and the dirty messes of everyday life (particularly useful if you have a toddler!); with a bit more work, aprons can be ornamentation in and of themselves. What a great way to spiff up your everyday clothes, or to make yourself look good when you have unexpected guests!

This pattern, KwikSew 3396, has three different versions of back-tie aprons in sizes small, medium, and large (up to a 44" bust). View A has a contrast fabric neck piece and pockets, and the outside edges are finished with bias tape. View B has a front panel and pockets, and the outside edges, panel seams and pockets are finished with bias tape. View C, a more decorative version, has rick-rack trim on the pockets and outside edges. (The rick-rack is not at all necessary if, like us, you choose to stay within the realm of what's available organically.)

Suggested fabrics are cottons and cotton types like chambray, calico, broadcloth, etc. The Harmony Arts wovens are particularly decorative as aprons. With 60" wide fabric, View A requires 1 yard of fabric A and 3/8 yard of a contrast fabric regardless of size; View B requires 1 3/8 yard of fabric, and View C requires 7/8 yard of fabric.

Made in the US.
