Wonderful for crafts, this ribbon yarn will make your projects truly unique. It is made from hand-cut strips of primarily silk fabrics hand-sewn or hand-tied end to end. Perfect for freeform knitting and crochet, weaving, embellishing, embroidery, quilting techniques, and virtually any "edgy" project. The fabrics found in this yarn are generally silks, plus cotton and rayon, with occasional metal threads. The width varies from 10-20 mm, and the length is approximately 25 yards.

Although these yarns aren't organic, we choose to offer them because they're providing a market for fabric scraps that would otherwise be added to a landfill. Women from small cooperatives make the yarn, earning a fair wage that is often used to send their children to school. How could we not support that?
