One of the more unique patterns we've seen, you'll have fun with this half-apron that turns into a sunbonnet. It's quick and easy to make (it takes about an hour, if you don't have many interruptions) and oh-so cute. Set out for a day of work protecting your clothes with the handy pocketed half-apron, and then protect yourself from the sun's rays using the three buttons to create an adorable sunbonnet with gathers in the back. Three sizes, to fit almost the whole family (small is for children aged 3-8, medium for older children or small adults, and large for the rest of us). Protect little ones from the sun, make splendid costumes (it goes well with the Prairie Dress, obviously), and enjoy walking around telling people to call you "Laura," "Mary," or "Carrie." (Referring, of course, to the Little House on the Prairie family.)
The pattern calls for the following:
Small and Medium, 5/8 yard of lightweight woven fabric (calico, lightweight denim, or similar), Large 3/4 yard. All sizes call for three 5/8" or 3/4" buttons, a scrap of cardboard 6x3", thread, and 2.5 yards of optional bias tape, ric-rac, or lace trim. The trim would go across the top of the pocket and around the body of the apron.
This pattern is Blessed Designs 2100.
