Instructions and Ideas : Carefully-chosen sewing patterns : Little People's patterns

Woodlands Shirt

With its square neckline, asymmetrical front pleat, and darling button work, the Woodlands Shirt is bound to be cherished by the boy or girl who wears it. By adding a tiny, embroidered pocket for gathering Nature's treasures, you will have created a family heirloom!

The pattern includes instructions, assembly diagrams, and full-size pattern pieces for children's unisex sizes 2T-10. Also included are instructions and a template for an apple tree embroidery.

You may want Swedish Tracing Paper or Kwik Trace Cloth to trace the pieces on, so you don't cut the actual pattern.

Your main fabric should be at least 42" wide. Choose a lightweight cotton or linen fabric with a nice drape. Sizes 2T-4T require 1 yard, while sizes 5-10 require 1 1/3 yards. You'll also need two sew-on snaps, various buttons, less than 1/2" in diameter (optional), and embroidery thread in various colors (I'd probably use organic yarn, but that's just me).

This is Sew Liberated Pattern #108; it is designed by a work-at-home mom and printed in the United States.

Made in the US.
