1950s Protect and Serve Apron

Did women actually cook and do housework in high heels and a girdle in the 1950s? Whether they did or not, it won't matter what you wear under this eye-catching apron because all anyone will see is the apron!

I have to admit that the name got me first -- how could anyone not like the Protect and Serve Apron??? As I looked a bit closer, though, I realized that the pattern itself is a great one; I think every kitchen needs at least one of these marvelous, 50s-style aprons!

This vintage apron pattern is for a smock-style apron with a sweet tulip pocket. All edges are finished with 1/4" fold-over bias tape.

Pattern sizes included to fit people ranging from a 30" bust, 24" waist, and 33" hips to a 46" bust, 40" waist, and 49" hips. With 60" wide fabric, you'll need 1 yard for the smallest size and 1 1/8 yard for the largest size. You'll also need nine yards of 1/4" double-fold bias tape.

This pattern is Decades of Style 5005.

Made in the US.
