Huck Finn Cap

Tame an adventuresome boy's wild hair with this dapper driver's cap! Designed with a child's comfort in mind, this quick-to-sew cap features a stretchy back for a secure, flexible fit and an itch-free lining. Dress it up or down -- your little Huck Finn will look equally adorable playing outdoors or attending a holiday dinner. Choose a light, airy fabric for summer wear, or a heavier one (corduroy is a splendid choice) for cooler months.

Accessible to beginners, the pattern includes detailed instructions, assembly diagrams, and full-size pattern pieces for children sizes 6 months to 10 years.

You'll want Swedish Tracing Paper or Kwik Trace Cloth to trace the pieces on, so you don't cut the actual pattern.

The fabric should be at least 44-45" wide, with a nice drape; you'll need 1/2 yard each for the exterior and the lining. (Do choose a fabric with a sturdy weave for the lining, and in general the outer fabric should be a heavier-weight one.) The pattern recommendations also include some notions (interfacing, stay tape, etc) that I try to avoid when sewing, but you may choose to use them; it's up to you.

This is Sew Liberated Pattern #110; it is designed by a work-at-home mom and printed in the United States.

Made in the US.
