Instructions and Ideas : Carefully-chosen sewing patterns : Patterns for women and girls

Sunday Picnic Blouse & Dress

Every day can feel like a picnic with this versatile, airy blouse. The smart, faux-wrap design is becoming on almost all body types. Use this beginner-to-intermediate pattern to make a blouse or a dress. Wear over a camisole or nursing tank with cropped jeans in the summer, or layer it over leggings and a long-sleeved tee in cold weather.

The pattern includes instructions, assembly diagrams, and full-size pattern pieces for women's sizes 0-20 for both blouse and dress.

You'll want Swedish Tracing Paper or Kwik Trace Cloth to trace the pieces on, so you don't cut the actual pattern.

Choose a fabric with a nice drape; light- to mid-weight cotton is recommended, and you want to avoid fabrics with a loose weave or one-way designs.

For the blouse, you need 2.75 yards of 54"-wide fabric for all sizes. For the dress, you'll need 3 yards for sizes 0-4, 3.25 yards for sizes 6-12, and 3.5 yards for sizes 14-20.

This is Sew Liberated Pattern #109; it is designed by a work-at-home mom and printed in the United States.

Made in the US.
