You'll love these beautiful rugs, handwoven in Texas from a combination of llama, sheep, and mohair goat hair. They show the variation in colors you can find in natural animal fibers, feel wonderful, and will enhance any area. Gorgeous as a throw rug, lovely on a chair or couch, stunning hanging on the wall...
Three different designs are available, and each rug also has the little differences that make hand-made products so prized. Choose from Mostly Creme, Mostly Grey, and Mostly Brown.
The animals from which the fibers are gathered are all from a single farm in Texas, where they live a natural, harmonious life. Do note that they are not certified organic; the ranch owner states, "We try to be as natural as possible, but don't try to follow all the regulations imposed to be called organic. We don't use regular chemicals, but if someone gets sick, we treat them as needed. We love our animals. We have two three-legged sheep and a ram with only one eye, but they are still sweet, and still grow wool. :)"
The animals are primarily fed locally-grown hay and grazed whenever the drought conditions permit it (it's harder to graze when there's no grass growing). The animals represent the range of natural colors available, including white, black, brown, red, silver, various grays, and some appaloosas. The sheep are sheared yearly, by a local shearer except when one is unavailable, and the ranch owner shears the goats and llamas herself. Because of the drought conditions, the fibers are processed in various non-Texas (but still US) locations.
The rugs are Texas-made, from mixes of scoured wool and mohair, and unscoured llama. Other sizes are available as special orders, with a minimum lead time of 6 weeks.
Purchase these rugs knowing that you're supporting happy animals and happy people.
