There's a convenient pocket to hold your utensil set. (And to keep you from looking as foolish as certain people we know very well and resemble quite closely, we'll gently suggest not putting the utensil set in the pocket until after inserting the carrier into the sling bag. It all works much better that way. Much, much better.) Available in Sage Green or Black; both have black interiors. Whether you're walking, riding your bike, or taking the subway, heading off to work, to school, or on an adventure into the unknown, your life will be that much more convenient with the sling bag in which to carry your sustenance. (Note that although all but the top picture show utensils, the carrier, etc, all you get here is the sling bag. All three can be purchased individually, or in a set at a discount.)
Made by WEAVE, a Fair Trade women's cooperative on the Thai-Burma border working with Karen craftswomen living in refugee camps.
The Karen people have lived in Burma for hundreds of years, but the Burmese military government's human rights abuses has led to the Karen people joining over 100,000 refugees crowded along the Thai-Burma border. Like refugees worldwide, many lack access to proper healthcare, education, and income, and cannot safely return to their homes. Women's Education for Advancement and Empowerment (WEAVE) works with Burmese refugee women on the border. The program includes income generation with a focus on women's self-determination, support of child development centers, and development of health education materials.
The color black has been discontinued.
