Designed for the advanced beginner, this bag is fairly easy; it uses the popular purse stitch pattern and has lots of stretch in all directions so you can fill it to the brim. Perfect for taking to the farmer's market each weekend, or for filling with all your necessities for a trip to the beach, the children's museum, the park, or anywhere else. The pattern calls for Size 6 US (4 m) 24" circular and 4 US (3.5 m) straight needles; adjust for correct gauge (approximately 15 sts and 19 rows over 4" in purse stitch).

Packaged in a cute little reusable cotton tote, this tote includes three skeins of 100% hemp yarn in a single color (enough to knit either a large or a small bag) and the pattern for both sizes.

Feedback we've been given is that the patterns aren't the easiest to work with, but that the kit is very workable for advanced beginners and the results are splendid. Hemp is harsher on your hands than cotton or wool; it doesn't have the elasticity of animal fibers or the softness of other plant yarns like cotton or silk, but you can't beat it for strength or durability. The fibers soften dramatically with washing, and I personally love the results.
