The hemp cord loops mean it's easy to hang your monkey from a peg, a branch, a Christmas Tree, or the ribbon on your gift wrap. Once you're done presenting the monkey, the cord's easy to remove (unless the monkey's new owner wants to keep it on, and is old enough to keep it there safely). Embroidered faces are safe for all ages, as there are no button eyes to come off and choke small children. Easy to clean -- just machine-wash warm and tumble-dry low.
Because the monkeys are stuffed with mill scraps rather than actual stuffing, they can look a bit lumpy in places; I prefer to think of it as "well-loved," but I'm optimistic like that. Every kid who I've shown these monkeys to has gravitated to them immediately; there's something about their round coziness and huggability that kids (and most adults, too, I think) just can't resist. And their washability means that it's okay for them to turn into a very well-loved toy because you can clean them again and again (and again and again and again and ... ). I encourage you to try them with your loved ones.
Great to keep around for those times when you suddenly need a gift that you just hadn't prepared for, you'll reach for these sock monkeys when you suddenly find out someone's pregnant or there's a new baby, there's a booboo and a little one needs comforting, a friend is sick and looking at a hospital stay (I can't be the only adult who finds stuffed animals comforting when I'm dreadfully ill, can I?), and other times like that.
The sock monkeys come in an assortment of colors; we'll choose for you, but feel free to let us know if there's a specific color you really do or don't like and we'll try to accommodate that.
