Neither stoplight yellow nor please-hunter-don't-shoot-me orange, this is instead a pleasingly mellow orange that simply epitomizes falling leaves and all the best parts of autumn. Designer Marylou Marsh specifically chose this interlock, saying: "Because it has the same finish on both sides, you can work it like a rib, though it is very soft. It has the stretch of rib, with the look of jersey. Soft and comfy, it is a mainstay for baby clothes and blankets, pullovers, dresses, and skirts. It's a staple fabric."

Medium-weight and oh-so-useful, this is a great fabric for autumn wear, infant clothing, slip-on tops, skirts, casual pants, and so much more. I particularly appreciate it because the color is desirable for the whole family. Little children, both boys and girls, love it, and grown men and women can build entire wardrobes around it.

At 10.8 ounces per linear yard, the fabric is about 6.5 ounces per square yard. There's about 35% stretch.
