Like charts of planets orbiting the sun, the lace circle repeats itself, rolling ever onward. It's a great way to add a bit of motion to your clothing or accessories, or to make your crafts and home dec projects just a bit more interesting. Approximately one inch wide, this is a fun lace that you'll enjoy working with.
Note that this lace is woven face-to-face with another piece of lace and then cut apart, so there will be small threads visible on both edges. You can see an example of two laces, uncut, here. For better structural integrity, you may want to carefully clip them (or use Fray Check or something similar). Otherwise these threads, if caught, can unravel for a short length.
Produced in a controlled environment clear of unnatural fibers and chemically-produced materials, this lace is free of chemical residues and toxins that might be present in the production of polyester laces. The lace is made of certified organic cotton sewn onto a cellulose backing which is then melted away by hot water. (Conventional lace production uses chemicals to melt away the cellulose.) The process is organic from seed to finished product. You may choose to iron the lace after washing if you want it to be straight; if, on the other hand, you're okay with the slightly wrinkled look that we prefer, you'll be fine without going through that extra effort. The natural color of undyed, unbleached cotton, the maker describes this lace as "Natural Ivory Cotton" with a matte finish.
